Online Auto Auction:

What is it all about?

When it comes to buying cars, people can get very dreamy. Their fantasies about that perfect car for that perfect price are often discussed tirelessly amongst buddies and family members. One thing is common: the fantasy perfect price is the price that is the lowest in the market.

People who seek these low priced quality cars look to online auctions which can be the answer to anyone’s dreams. These auctioned cars are most probably repossessed and sold at extremely low prices. Most fantastical are the government vehicles which are reputed to be priced so low they can be scraped off the bottom.

So what is online auto auction all about? Those that auction cars are usually agencies like the GSA, the IRS, the FBI, the DEA, the Department of Treasury, Border Patrol and Homeland Security. There are also other agencies like banks, police departments, and some financial institutions. They are online as they are open for any bidding and are public.

Before bidding, however, make sure that the car or vehicle being auctioned is not a flooded car. A lot of hurricanes and natural disasters have been going on lately thus a lot of cars being auctioned can be the result of floods, hurricanes and other natural disasters.

Check out the history of the vehicle that is being auctioned before posting a bid. The VIN# is usually printed online so a check on that will reveal the history. Second, if it is a used car, how is the warranty? Remember, con men can just as easily tamper with the gauges and give faulty descriptions online.

When bidding, bid low, never for the price that is stated for starting bids. The value of the car is almost always lower than the asking bid, so be wary and aware when bidding. Another tip, make sure that you have enough money in your bank account to cover for the bid. Some people may just embarrass you but most will impose a penalty.

Once you win the bid, make sure that the contract is a green contract, meaning it is clear. If it is indicated a green and upon checking it is a red, or uncleared, then you can sue for compensation or refund.

Last but not least, go by the prices that are recommended by the Kelley Blue Book. Make sure that the asking bid is within range of the recommendations of the book and not exceed it. If it is lower than that recommended by the book, thing RED! It might just get broken down one week later.

Good Luck on your online auto auction surf and may you find that perfection you are looking for.
